Winston Hsu - General Manager

From its one-man operation beginnings in 1995, Winston Hsu has lead NAIP in its growth into a 180-person-strong organization. At NAIP, in addition to management duties, Mr. Hsu draws upon over 17 years of experience and know-how in the electronics and patent industries to play an advisory role to clients. He frequently speaks at industry conferences and lectures on IP-related issues, industry trends and business strategies.

Mr. Hsu is a graduate of National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan and the University of Iowa in the United States with degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. He received further training in patent and business law at the Practicing Law Institute and Montgomery College. He is also holder of five US and two Taiwan patents.

Scott Margo

Since joining NAIP in 2001, US Patent Agent Scott Margo has become one of the company's most experienced engineers, having worked on and been involved in prosecuting over 700 patents. As Senior Engineer, Mr. Margo specializes in Office Action analysis and response drafting. He has also conducted courses on "Methods of Overcoming 102/103 Rejections", "Pros/Cons of Accelerated Examinations", and so on.

Mr. Margo graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin with concentration in Electrical and Computer Engineering. While at university, Mr. Margo held two highly sought-after internships at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) in the System Engineering group, as well as an internship in the AMD Product Test Engineering group.

Frank Wu

Over the years Frank Wu has become one of NAIP's most valuable employees. His extensive experience in both the US and Taiwan patent industries allow him rare insight into patent cases and strategy, making him a highly-respected consultant for clients. At NAIP, Mr. Wu currently leads an experienced team of engineers with a specializations ranging from mechanical and material engineering to optical and network technologies.

Mr. Wu holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Engineering from National Taiwan University, and received further training in patent prosecution and patent business practices at George Washington University. In 2008, Mr. Wu was one of only thirty-seven to pass the highly competitive Taiwan Patent Attorney examination, and is now part of the influential first class that will help shape the future of the patent industry in Taiwan.

Gino Tai

Taiwan Patent Agent (台代字第09199號)

 

Gino Tai joined NAIP in early 2008 and has quickly become a vital part of NAIP's Taiwan Patent services program. He brings in-depth familiarity with Taiwan patent examination and prosecution procedures gained from over four years experience at the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office (TIPO). While a patent examiner at TIPO and currently at NAIP, he handles patent drafting and prosecution in a range of technical fields including telecommunications and networking technologies.

Mr. Tai holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering from Yuan Ze University and Chang Gung University, respectively. He also trained at the Ministry of Economic Affairs' (MOEA) Research Center for Specialists, gaining accreditation for Assistant Patent Examiner in 2004 and Patent Examiner in 2007.
